How to Kickstart a New Month

The start of a new month is great for many reasons. Here at SIS Marketing, we like to utilize the new month as both a fresh slate with new intentions and a time to reflect on the past 30 days (well in this case 29.) Reflecting on the past month allows you to make changes, acknowledge both the good and bad occurrences and to be intentional for the new month. Because you know we would not start a new slate without being anything but intentional! Here are 5 easy steps you can take to ensure you are starting March off on the right foot.

1.Review Last Month

Regardless of the outcomes for your business or personal life last month, reviewing these occurrences are crucial to starting off the new month efficiently. Sit down with your team and discuss what went right and what when wrong previously and what everyone can contribute to the new month, whether that would be making changes or putting the pedal to the metal.

2.Set Goals

Setting goals is important to growing your business. You need to identify where you want your business or yourself to be at the end of the month, quarter, year, etc. We recommend setting both long term and short-term goals so that they are achievable.

3.Make a RoadMap to Achieve Your Goals

This is quite possibly the most important step because it ties into the final step, and our motto, being intentional. You cannot simply set goals without identifying how you are going to accomplish them. Set micro-goals, or a road map, under each main goal, so that you and your team can create a plan of attack. Then, every day or week your short-term goals can be connected into these roadmaps and therefore intentionally getting you to the bigger picture. It sounds like a long and unnecessary step, but trust us, it’s crucial to growth!

4.Clear Your Mindset

Going into the new month with a clear headspace is very important. Regardless of the outcomes of the previous month, you need to start the new month as a blank slate. Set your goals and roadmap with a clear headspace, because if you let the previous months outcomes interfere, you will not achieve the growth you want. For example, if you had a bad month prior, are you going to bring that bad energy into the new month and create another unsuccessful month? Trust us, clear your mindset and bring fresh energy into March!

5.Be Intentional

We’ll say it over, and over, and over again. You cannot achieve the growth and success you desire, without being intentional. Create your goals this month and make them specific and achievable. Make sure your road map allows you to take action each day. Pick the one task each morning that is going to get your closer to your goals and ensure that gets done first each day.
